Overview of the user interface

 



Title Bar:

The title bar is a bar located at the top of a window or a dialog box that displays the name of the window or software program being used. the buttons on the right side of title bar are used to minimize, maximize, restore and close button.
 
 

Quick Access toolbar :

 
The Quick Access toolbar appears above the Ribbon and includes buttons for commonly used commands. By default, the Quick Access toolbar contains only the Save, Undo, and Redo commands, but you can add more.
 
 

Ribbion:

 
Microsoft Excel displays commands in a series of icons stored on different tabs. This combination of icons and tabs is known as the Ribbon interface.The tabs on the ribbon are: File, Home, Insert, Page layout, Formulas, Data, Review and View. The Home tab contains the most frequently used commands in Excel.
 

Formula Bar:

 

A toolbar at the top of the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet window that you can use to enter or copy an existing formula in to cells or charts. It is labeled with function symbol (fx). By clicking the Formula Bar, or when you type an equal (=) symbol in a cell, the Formula Bar will activate. It can also use for enter, edit a formula, a function or data in a cell.
 
 
 

Name box:

 
In Microsoft Excel, the Name Box is the box to the left of the formula bar that displays the cell that is currently selected in the spreadsheet. Normally it shows the active cell address or the Name of the selected cell, range, or object.
 

Workbook Window:

Display a portion of the active worksheet.
 
 

Sheet Tab:

 
In Microsoft Excel,  a sheet, sheet tab, or worksheet tab is the current worksheet that is being displayed. Every Excel file is capable of having multiple worksheets, and after opening an Excel file, you will see multiple sheet tabs as shown in the picture. By default, you have three sheet tabs "Sheet1" the default worksheet, "Sheet2", "Sheet3", and an additional tab that allows you to add additional sheets to the Excel file.
 

Scroll Bar:

 
Appear along the right side and bottom of the workbook window and enable you to scroll through the worksheet.
 

 

Status Bar:

 
The status bar at the bottom of Microsoft Office programs displays status on options that are selected to appear on the status bar. Many options are selected by default. If you want to customize the status bar, right-click it, and then click the options that you want. it is the quickest way to see the average, count, numerical count, minimum, maximum or sum of selected cells is by taking a look at the status bar.
